[Gege News Talk] New Hennessey Venom F5 Aiming For 290mphas GT

After achieving success with the Venom GT, Hennessey recently introduced their new beast, the Venom F5. It's actually the upgrade to the record-breaking GT, which has a top speed of 270,49mph. However, this time, they're targeting for higher top speed; 290mph!

What are the upgrades? First is the aerodynamics. The chassis is still remain the same; using the chassis from Lotus Exige with extra tubular structure to support its twin turbo V8 engine. But, while the GT still has the Exige looks, the F5 will using the different "clothing" in order to improve the aerodynamics of the car. And as the GT, the F5 will possibly using the carbon fiber bodywork to remain the weight under 1,300kg.

Next is, obviously, the power. The car still utilize the same engine figure, the 7.0L twin turbo V8, as the GT with some upgrade. The power figure still remains unknown, but they predicted to be 1,400hp. With that, the power-to-weight ration will be better than the breathtaking Koenigsegg One:1.

Then finally, the technology. The transmission is still the same as the GT, using the 6-speed manual box. But, Hennessey will also offer the F5 with a single-clutch paddle shift transmission to get the best precision as possible.  It's not a dual-clutch box because it's too heavy. There's also a GPS-based traction control, which can be calibrated to the specific racetrack.

With that kind of figure, I actually wondering something about this, particularly the engine; is the twin turbo V8 a record-breaking engine? I mean, after Mclaren F1, Koenigsegg break the speed record using their CCX with twin turbo V8. Then, after Bugatti Veyron 16.4, SSC break it using their Ultimate Aero with twin turbo V8 too. And then, After Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Hennessey break it using their Venom GT also with twin turbo V8. In that time, SSC prepares Tuatara using the same engine figure. So does Koenigsegg with One:1. So, the question now is, who has the better V8? The Tuatara? The One:1? Or the Venom F5?
